An established NYC singer-songwriter recently moved to the Bay Area, MARC FARRE and his SKY FARMERS band are honored to play our favorite North Bay venue... on its Farewell to Ross Street weekend.
Marc's music is hard to categorize but easy to love — melodic, arty, earthy, open-hearted, eclectic, juicy. Critics have called his albums “hypnotic and intensely soulful,” and compared his sophisticated style and intimate voice to artists such as Nick Cave, Serge Gainsbourg, Lou Reed, John Cale and Leonard Cohen.
Marc's French heritage and deep voice imbue his music with a European, art-house feel — he sings in both English and French. He’s released 8 albums and EPs, plus several singles, including pop gem “My Sweet George,” mixed by legendary producer Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Peter Gabriel, Elvis Costello).
“Intense and truly fantastic music. A tender touch of Donovan and Leonard Cohen, impeccably captured.” - Bob Boilen, NPR (All Songs Considered)
“The musical equivalent of an art-house film.” - Gannett Newspapers
“In the company of European-influenced musicians like Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, and Nick Cave. A throaty voice, highly poetic lyrics, and a kinetic band behind him. Compelling.” - All Music Guide
“Marc Farre has that certain something. He mixes downtown creative spark with classic folk songwriting, adding accomplished jazz guitar to his dark storytelling.” - The Brooklyn Rail

Bryce Dow-Williamson has been the General Manager of The Lost Church Santa Rosa for three years and head of booking for two years. He rarely plays live these days, but the photo above is from one of the first shows at TLCSR, and he is honored to be invited by Marc to share songs on this second to last night in the current location.
Bryce's music is an expression inspired by the quiet, tender and subtle. The songs are raw lullabies with a taste of nectar and venom.
